Tsunami on the Square is a free, all-ages, outdoor performing arts and culture festival in Prescott, Arizona. Our mission is to build community through the human tradition of live performance culture. Named for "the natural event least likely to occur in the high desert," Tsunami on the Square takes place annually on the third weekend in June, in Prescott's downtown Courthouse Plaza. The Festival is now in its tenth year. Dates for 2008 are June 14th and 15th.

Tsunami's programming draws on modern and global ethnic dance forms, performance art, music, outdoor theater, and circus arts.

Besides the main Festival, Tsunami on the Square produces a number of other events, including Circus Camp for Kids, Jazz & Pie,"Flourish Before the Flood" - a site specific, outdoor performance occurring each May, and an annual benefit performance in November called The Kingfisher's Harvest. Tsunami also works in partnership with Arizona artists and arts organizations to create cultural and educational events around Prescott.

Tsunami On The Square is a 301(c)3 non-profit organization, and all donations are tax deductable.

Tsunami on the Square Traditions

• Live performances on both a main stage ( fourteen hours total programming over two days) and a children's stage (seven hours programming, on the Festival's main day).
• Exceptional local and regional performance groups, with an eye towards drawing national and international level talent as opportunity arises.
• A participatory parade, featuring all performers, to open the main festival day.
• "Skitmercials," short, mostly comic theatrical pieces serving as transitions between major acts, sponsored by local businesses and non-profits.
• Circus Camp, a series of visual and performance art workshop for kids mentored by professional artists and performers.
• Tsunami week events, held before the festival, in conjunction with other local arts organizations.
