Performance Profile:

Human Nature Dance Theatre

Human Nature was originally formed by Delisa Myles, Jayne Lee and Paul Moore in 1994. Based in N. AZ, this dance ensemble performs regularly in Flagstaff, Prescott and Jerome as well as further afield, with an annual residency and performance at the Arcosanti Urban Laboratory.

As a collective of multi-disciplinary artists whose ages range from 26 to 83, Human Nature often collaborates with other artists emphasizing experimental, environmental, cross-disciplinary and inter-generational perspectives.

“We dance, we play, we speak and we hope to create images that connect to the hearts of our audiences. The result is a complex web of interwoven themes. We like to integrate live music, spoken word and dramatic lighting with our movement phrases. Thus, we communicate on many levels.”

Jayne Lee, Human Nature’s director, has been involved in dance/theatre and teaching for 30 years, including 10 years with the internationally recognized London Contemporary Dance Theatre.

Human Nature were the featured guest at The Kingfisher’s Harvest, Tsunami On the Square’s annual performance dinner, on November 12th, 2006 and November 18th, 2007.
